En 2013 , cerca de 200 familias fueron desalojadas de sus hogares en el Loteamiento San Francisco (Camaragibe / Pernambuco) para construir infraestructura para la Copa del Mundo . El Gobierno del Estado de Pernambuco retiró a las familias del lugar donde vivían por más de 40 años para construir una terminal de autobuses. Hasta la fecha, no se ha realizado ninguna construcción en el lugar, y el suelo – entregado a una empresa privada – se ha convertido en un aparcamiento para autobuses . Este año , otro gran evento se realizará en Brasil, y muchas de las familias que perdieron sus hogares en el 2013 siguen esperando una compensación por las pérdidas que sufrieron. In 2013, about 200 families were evicted from their homes in the San Francisco Allotment (Camaragibe / Pernambuco) to build infrastructure for the World Cup. The Pernambuco State Government evicted families from where they lived for more than 40 years to build a bus terminal. To date, there has been no construction on the site, and the land -delivered to a private company- has become a parking lot for buses. This year, another great event will take place in Brazil, and many of the families who lost their homes in 2013 are still waiting for compensation to the losses they suffered.
